release during the LP Disco era of “giant singles”. Because the
groove spacing was so wide, it was possible to pack a high
sound level on the disc. Purely for promotion purposes at the
Curve, and in special market centers. Highly sought after
collector item.

SPECIAL RELEASE PROJECTS

Designated by “S # R” to show number of discs in the set, followed by the number in release sequence, and an “M” or “S” for Stereo or Mono. These titles were done under special contract as “private” releases through Semaphore Records Special Projects department for Railfan Clubs or Museums. Most all are out of release, and are highly sought “Collector” items.

S1R-1S “Here Comes the American Freedom Train” Released as two editions. One regular LP, and one with a picture pressed right in the LP. {Extremely highly sought item.} The deluxe edition had a gift box, with a copy of the Souvenir AFT program, an American Train patch, and a free 45 of just the #1, and #4449 steam locomotives in action.

S2R-2S “This Train is Bound for Glory” Carstens publishing. Deluxe box jacket and free 7" 45, copy of first edition of “Railfan” mag, and picture of Carsten’s Ramsey, NJ historic station.

S1R-3S “The Reading Ride Again” 150th Anniversary Special release. Standard LP album. For Berks County Historical Society.

S2R-4S “40th T1 Anniversary” RRT&HS private release. 2 LP gift box jacket with picture insert

S1R-5S/CD “NRHS 50th Anniversary Trip” - first true Digital steam PRR #7002 & #1223 recordings. Released as regular LP. Was supposed to go to Digital, but
